Chatrath to meet Meghalaya Congress legislators before leaving for Arunachal.

On the last leg of his visit to Shillong, AICC in-charge of Meghalaya, Manish Chatrath said he would be meeting the party MLAs on Wednesday. Thereafter, he will be traveling to Arunachal Pradesh.

“The MLAs are meeting me tomorrow morning and if they have some issues we will discuss,” Chatrath told reporters on Tuesday.

He however said the MLAs have not discussed with him regarding the need to change the MPCC chief.

“They have just discussed matters related to the organization be its president, vice president, general secretary everything together, nobody is targeting out here,” the AICC leader said.

“We have a party president, we have two working presidents also and I have not received any demand as such (to change the incumbent president),” he reiterated.

Asked if Celestine Lyngdoh is seeking to be relieved as MPCC chief, Chatrath said, “I think he must have thought about relinquishing his position but as far as I am concerned he has not discussed with me on this issue neither he has given any letter on this regard to me.”

He further stated that there is no problem within the Congress and that the party is united.
