SHILLONG, OCT 28: MSSASA president Aristotle C Rymbai on Monday informed that the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has assured to invite the SSA teachers for further discussion before the government takes a final call on the need to come up with a policy to regularise their services.
In a video statement, Rymbai said, “During the meeting, we have discussed at length regarding the certain recommendations prepared by the education department pertaining to come up with a policy for job security of the SSA teachers in the state of Meghalaya.”
“The Chief Minister also informed us that his government is committed and very positive regarding this issue and very soon, the government will invite us for further discussion regarding this matter before the government comes up with final conclusion,” he added.
He said, “Based on today’s meeting, we do hope in the coming days, the government will come up with a policy for the job security of SSA teachers in the state of Meghalaya as done in other states of the country.”
He also thanked all the cabinet ministers for supporting the issue during the recently held cabinet on the move at Resubelpara, North Garo Hills District.
“We have also express our sincere thanks and gratitude to the government under his (CM) leadership for the approval for age relaxation to SSA teachers from 37 to 45 years so that they will get a chance to apply for government job in teaching profession from lower primary to higher secondary level,” Rymbai added.
