CM convenes MDA meet

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday convened the coordination committee meeting of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA).

Sangma told reporters that the idea of the meeting was to bring legislators and leaders of the coalition partners together to discuss many issues concerning the state.

He said the coalition partners had some concerns about the boundary issue adding clarification was given to them not only during the meeting but even at an unofficial level also.

The chief minister however said none of the coalition partners had suggested the need to review the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Assam.

Regarding the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), CM said“While we were in the meeting, the letter from the Union Education Minister also came in so it was good timing for us in one way. The Union Education Minister had specifically mentioned that the other colleges can continue with their admission on the basis of how they used to do before which means CUET will not have to be taken.”
