CM inspects site for installation of Cryogenic Oxygen Generation Plant at Baljek

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday inspected the site for the installation of the Cryogenic Oxygen Generation Plant at Baljek, near Jengjal in West Garo Hills.

“This plant will cater to the medical oxygen needs of 5 Districts in Garo Hills as well as it can also supply to West Khasi Hills district, as the location is strategic,” the Chief Minister informed.

The work for this will start from Friday itself as the order has been given.

He later visited the site where the Biomedical Waste Incinerator is being set up adjacent to ISBT Tura which will help dispose off biomedical waste safely. He informed that the construction is underway and will soon be completed.

“This is a Rs 4 crore project which has already been sanctioned and the work has also started, so I have just come to see the work and we are hopeful that within a few months, the work for this will be completed,” Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said.

“This is something very much needed because lot of biomedical waste is there which needs to be disposed off safely so once that comes up that objective will be met,” he added.
