Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday launched the Chief Minister’s Research Grant (CMRG) program organised by the Department of Art and Culture at state Secretariat Shillong.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that very soon the Government is coming up with State Level Data Centre as the various research initiative about the Arts and Culture, Heritage, Indigenous, Communities, Land Language and lineage and evaluation will now be just a click away.
In this Digital Era, the Chief Minister said these all inputs will be kept in a digital format on the cloud which will be accessible to people all over the world.
These different programmes and research will find its place in the OTT platforms.
Asserting that the state lacks research and documentation, Sangma said the documentations will help the future generation to understand the past and improve the past in the future and make things better.
CMRG is an initiative by the Chief Minister with the goal to develop high quality research studies that align with the state’s ongoing development plans and move the state forward in a positive direction.
The State Government asked the interested applicants can apply at www.cmrgmeghalaya.org and receive grant of upto INR 3 lakh. The program was organised in the presence of Arts & Culture Minister Paul Lyngdoh, beside the officials of Art and culture.
The objective of the program is to encourage high-quality research studies that align with the State’s current development initiatives and support its progressive trajectory.
