Chief Minister Conrad Sangma became the owner of the first electric vehicle of Meghalaya MG ZS EV as he said this will help to protect the environment and reduce the impact of fossil fuels on global warming and climate change.
“We reduce our dependence on fossil fuel and to ensure that the use of electric vehicles becomes more prominent in the Government departments and among the citizens of the state,” the Chief Minister said.
While stating that he, henceforth while in Shillong will use electric vehicles, the Sangma said, “I am sure this will cut down not just the cost in the office but it will also ensure that we do our part to protect the environment.”
“ I take this opportunity through all of you to encourage other departments also to start using electric vehicles and citizens also that we should because it is one step towards going green and ensuring that we are able to do our part to protect the environment and reduce the impact of fossil fuels on the global warming and the climate change,” he added.
The New MG ZS EV is a 5 seater SUV gives advantage of up to 273 miles of electric range, rapid charging and a host of intelligent features as standard.
