CM Conrad Sangma tested positive for COVID 19, So far 6 Meghalaya legislators infected.


Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday as yesterday and this morning the Chief Minister was showing mild symptoms, however, he is stable now.
Confirming the report, the chief minister took to his Twitter account to caution all those who came in direct contact with him.
“I have tested positive for #Covid-19. I am under home isolation and experiencing mild symptoms. I request all those who came in contact with me in the past 5 days to kindly keep a watch on their health and if necessary get tested. Stay safe,” Sangma tweeted.
Revealing further about the Chief Minister’s health, Health Minister AL Hek said, “He is stable now, yes yesterday and this morning he was showing some symptoms but now he is improving a lot.”
Stating that the CM is in Shillong and under Home quarantine, Hek said, “Yes he is showing mild symptom.”
“Doctors are available anytime (to attend and monitor the health condition of the CM). The CM will be tested again after five days,” Hek said adding “Chief Minister’s office will be disinfected, as the COVID p19 positive person is staying at his residence therefore the office has to be sanitize only.”
“All high-risk contacts will have to go for testing…if they are negative, they need not go for self-quarantine but if they don’t go for testing, it is advisable for them to go for self-quarantine,” he said.
It may be mentioned here that the chief minister is the sixth legislator tested positive for COVID-19 in the state. Recently, Ampati legislator and former Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma’s daughter Miani D Shira also declared on Twitter that he is infected by COVID 19.
Earlier, Health Minister AL Hek, Power Minister James Sangma, Transport Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar and Phulbari legislator SG Esmatur Mominin had also tested positive for the virus and subsequently recovered.
