COVID 19 Active Cases fall below 500-mark.

Meghalaya has reported a significant fall in COVID-19 active cases as the State on Sunday recorded 499 active cases with the total caseload grew to 13,253 as of today.
However, the death toll due to coronavirus has gone up to 134 in the state after one person succumbed to the infection on Sunday.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said, 54-year-old Apurba D Sangma from Jatrakhona, South Garo Hills died on Thursday at 9.05 PM.
“He was admitted to Tura Civil Hospital on 30th November and tested positive for COVID 19,” he said.
“The patient was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus with COPD with Septicaemia with Thrombocytopenia with Severe Anaemia with Acute Kidney Injury with Covid 19 related Pneumonia with Hypertension,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. War informed that 89 patients have also recovered from the viral infection pushing the total number of recoveries to 12,620.
He said the recovered patients include 64 from East Khasi Hills district, 7 West Garo Hills district, 6 Ri Bhoi district, 5 South West Garo Hills district, 4 East Jaintia Hills district, 2 South West Khasi Hills district and 1 East Garo Hills district.

Of 32 fresh cases detected today, he said 28 are from East Khasi Hills, 3 West Garo Hills and 1 Ri Bhoi.
So far, the state has detected a total of 13,253 COVID-19 cases out of which 499 are active cases, 12,620 recovered and 134 deaths.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 317 positive cases, West Jaintia Hills 86, Ri Bhoi 33, West Garo Hills 27, South West Garo Hills 6, East Garo Hills 10, South Garo Hills 7, West Khasi Hills 5, North Garo Hills 5 and East Jaintia Hills 3.
