COVID 19: Governor tests negative

The Governor of Meghalaya Satya Pal Malik who had come back from New Delhi on September 29th tested negative for COVID 19.

Soon after his return from New Delhi on September 29, after meeting President of India Ram Nath Kovind and attending several other engagements, The Governor of Meghalaya Satya Pal Malik along with his personal staff and ADCs have undergone COVID 19 test.

Secretary to the Governor, Pravin Bakshi said in a statement on Thursday informed that the number of COVID positive cases in Raj Bhawan has come down to 15 as Bakshi reassured that  almost all are such who have put in 14 days of quarantine and issued discharge certificate with home isolation advisory for 7 days .

While informing that the containment zone order of Raj Bhavan quarters was also lifted on September 27, barring 4 micro containment houses of positive cases with earlier mild symptoms or repeat positive tests, he said, “They are all asymptomatic and doing fine.”

“On behalf of Raj Bhavan, I express my sincere gratitude to the State Government, the Health Department, District Administration and the District Police for their support and cooperation during this difficult period,” he said.

He expressed special gratitude towards the Chief Minister for Chief Minister Ration Package for quarantine which was a big support to the quarantined families. He said the Raj Bhavan also thanked the Health Minister, A L Hek for his personal care and supervision of the arrangements during the period of containment in Raj Bhavan and other times too .
