The state on Friday registered 18 new cases of COVID-19 infection pushing the total number of active cases to 164, as 03 more recovered from the viral disease, taking up the number of persons who have recovered to 13,142.
Director Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that fresh COVID-19 cases recorded on Friday include 17 in East Khasi Hills district and one in Ri Bhoi district.
Of the 03 patients who have recovered from the viral infection, Dr War said all the three are from East Khasi Hills district.
So far, the state has detected a total of 13,445 COVID-19 cases out of which 164 are active cases, 13,142 recovered and 139 died.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills, including Shillong is the most affected district in the State with 126 active COVID-19 cases, while West Jaintia Hills 01, Ri Bhoi 14, West Garo Hills 15, South West Garo Hills 03, East Garo Hills 01, East Jaintia Hills 0, South Garo Hills 0, South West Khasi Hills 0, West Khasi Hills 03 and North Garo Hills 01.
“Till date, swab samples of 2, 94,515 persons have been tested of which 2,81,070 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 78,304 entrants from outside the state.
