Total cases- 12,067
Two more persons have died due to COVID-19 taking the death toll in the state to 118 on Friday.
The state has also detected 62 new positive cases while 78 more persons were also declared recovered on Friday.
He said the new cases include 34 from East Khasi Hills district, 12 West Garo Hills district, 04 cases each in East Garo Hills district, South West Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills, and 02 cases in North Garo Hills as well as in South West Khasi Hills.
Of the 78 recovered patients, Dr War said 46 are from East Khasi Hills, 16 West Garo Hills, 04 South Garo Hills, 05 South West Garo Hills, 02 East Garo Hills, 01 in North Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills and 03 in Ri Bhoi District.
So far, the state has detected a total of 12,067 COVID-19 cases out of which 630 are active cases, 11,319 recovered and 118 deaths.
Dr War said the fatality rate due to COVID-19 is 0.97 percent.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 354 positive cases, West Garo Hills 152, Ri Bhoi 29, East Garo Hills 29, South Garo Hills 02, South West Garo Hills 16, West Jaintia Hills 22, West Khasi Hills 09, North Garo Hills 08, East Jaintia Hills 05 and South West Khasi Hills 04.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,50,430 persons have been tested of which 2,38,363 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 67,259 entrants from outside the state.
