Active cases- 654
Ninety- Seven more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, taking the total cases to 12,164 in the state.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said the new cases include 82 from East Khasi Hills district, 09 West Garo Hills district, 05 West Jaintia Hills district, and 01 from Ri Bhoi District.
Of the 73 persons who recovered from the viral infection, Dr. War said 51 are from East Khasi Hills, 01 South West Garo Hills, 11 West Garo Hills, 07 Ri Bhoi, 01 West Jaintia Hills, and 02 East Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 12,164 COVID-19 cases out of which 654 are active cases, 11,392 recovered, and 118 deaths.
Dr. War said the fatality rate due to COVID-19 is 0.97 percent.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 385 positive cases, West Garo Hills 150, South Garo Hills 02, Ri Bhoi 23, South West Garo Hills 15, West Jaintia Hills 26, East Garo Hills 27, East Jaintia Hills 05, West Khasi Hills 09, South West Khasi Hills 04, and North Garo Hills 8.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,52,594 persons have been tested of which 2,40,430 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 67,762 entrants from outside the state.
