Even as the number of active cases in the State continues to decline, the state reported three more fatalities on Wednesday taking the death toll to 85.

According to the information received from the Health Department, a patient named Marzina Sangma 61 yrs/F, Kharkutta, North Garo Hills was admitted to Tura Civil Hospital on 20-10-2020. Covid positive detected, expired on 26/10/2020 at 7.30 PM. She was Diagnosis with Covid 19 with Septic Shock with Paraplegia with Polymyositis with Kidney Injury.

The second patient was Gopal Saha 56 yrs/M, Polo Hills, Shillong.  He was admitted to NEIGRIHMS on 14-10-2020. Detected Covid positive on the same day while he expired on 27/10/2020 6.45 AM. Diagnosis: Refractory Shock with Covid Pneumonia with Chronic Infection with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Third Patient Taru Lata Mondal, 65 yrs/F, Upper Laban, Shillong, EK Hills was admitted to Neigrihms on 26-10-2020. Covid Positive on 26-10-2020. Expired on 27-10-2020 at 3.55 PM. Diagnosis: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus with Nephropathy with Hypertension wIth CKD with Covid Pneumonia.

The state also reported 90 new cases took the number of active cases to 1,364 and total recovery of 7,777.

The new 90 cases include 85 from East Khasi Hills district, 19 from West Garo Hills district, 06 from West Jaintia Hills district, 04 from East Garo Hills district, 04 from Ri Bhoi district, 01 armed forces/ para-military from South West Garo Hills and a returnee from the North Garo Hills district.

Presently, East Khasi Hills top the active cases tally with 770, followed by West Garo Hills 173, Ri Bhoi now has 170 active cases. While West Khasi Hills has 50 cases, 2 in South West Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills 94, East Jaintia Hills 17, South West Garo Hills 5, South Garo Hills 19, East Garo Hills 47, and North Garo Hills 17.

Till date, Meghalaya has registered a total of 9,226 COVID 19 cases out of which 1,364 are active, 85 deceased, and 7,777 recoveries.
