The spike in Covid-19 cases in Meghalaya continues as the state reported 139 new cases during the last 24 hours. With this, the state’s tally mounted to 2,478 active cases while one more death pushed the toll to 63.
The last 24 hours also saw 97 people recovering from the virus, taking the total amount of recovery to 5,142.
Out of the 97 recovered COVID-19 patients, 61 are from East Khasi Hills, 07 from West Garo Hills, 13 from Ri Bhoi, 06 from East Jaintia Hills, 07 from South West Garo Hills, and 03 from West Jaintia Hills.
The state has detected a total of 7,683 COVID-19, of which 2,478 are active cases, 5,142 recovered, and 63 deaths.
East Khasi Hills district tops the list for having maximum positive cases with 1,736 infections, followed by Ri Bhoi 332 and West Garo Hills 171.
In the other districts, 56 cases in West Jaintia Hills, 34 in South West Garo Hills, 25 in East Jaintia Hills, 21 in East Garo Hills, 26 in North Garo Hills, 36 in South West Khasi Hills, 35 in South Garo Hills and 6 in West Khasi Hills.
