As the state has witnessed a drop in the daily COVID-19 tally, Sunday witness the detection of only five new cases even as over 13,000 patients have recovered from the viral infection so far.
This came a day after the state had witnessed detection of only two cases, which is the lowest in the past several months ever since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the state.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said, “All the five cases are from East Khasi Hills district.”
Of the 27 patients who have recovered from the viral infection, Dr War said, “22 are from East Khasi Hills, 02 from Ri Bhoi District, 01 each from North Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills and West Garo Hills Districts.”
So far, the state has detected a total of 13,376 COVID-19 cases out of which 226 are active cases, 13012 recovered and 138 deaths.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 164 positive cases, West Jaintia Hills 04, Ri Bhoi 30, West Garo Hills 15, South West Garo Hills 03, East Garo Hills 03, South Garo Hills 01, West Khasi Hills 05 and North Garo Hills 01.
