The state on Saturday has reported one more death due to COVID19 taking the death toll to 111 even as 71 more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 pushing the total number of active cases to 858.
A total of 129 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours taking the number of recovered persons up to 10735. .So far the number of positive cases in the state detected is 11704.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said the new cases include 53 from East Khasi Hills district, 09 West Garo Hills district, West Jaintia Hills 03, North Garo Hills 02, West Khasi Hills 01 and 03 Ri Bhoi district.
Of the 129 persons who recovered from the viral infection, Dr. War said 71 are from East Khasi Hills, 23 from West Khasi Hills, 06 West Garo Hills, 07 East Garo Hills, 02 West Jaintia Hills, 14 South West Garo Hills, 3 North Garo Hills, 20 Ri Bhoi and 01 in East Jaintia Hills District.
So far, the state has detected a total of 11,704 COVID-19 cases out of which 858 are active cases, 10,735 recovered, and 111 deaths.
Dr. War said the fatality rate due to COVID-19 is 0.95 percent.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 435 positive cases, West Garo Hills 257, South Garo Hills 49, South West Garo Hills 25, East Garo Hills 20, Ri Bhoi 34, West Khasi Hills 06, East Jaintia Hills 09, West Jaintia Hills 16 and North Garo Hills 07.
“Till date, swab samples of 2, 39,176 persons have been tested of which 2, 27,472 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 64,232 entrants from outside the state.
