Meghalaya will soon get three CUET examination centre. Informing this Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma said, CUET centers will be set up in Shillong, Tura and Jowai before the next examination.
Talking to reporters, Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma said Chief Minister Conrad Sangma led a delegation to meet Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on July 4 and highlighted various issues related to Education sector in the state including the CUET examination issue.
“We have discussed that from the next CUET examination we will be having in Shillong, Tura and Jowai. These centres will be set up before next CUET examination,” the Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma said.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister requested Union Education Minister to issue necessary directions to the Ministry of Education and the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct a special CUET examination for those students of Meghalaya who have missed the said examination due to allotment of CUET examination centres outside the State.
Getting a positive response from the centre, Rakkam A Sangma said, “.After the intervention of CM many CUET examination have been reschedule and ofcourse there are some left out students whose examination will also be reschedule.”
While stating that, many examination has already been rescheduled, the state Education Minister said, “Some still left out especially from Garo Department has been left out, I think NTA will reschedule for the remaining students.…. Garo Department is yet to be rescheduled but to my knowledge most others are already rescheduled and they had their examination.”
