Deputy CM leaves it to people of Meghalaya to judge performance of MDA Govt

Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Thursday left it to the people of the state to judge the performance of the National People’s Party (NPP)-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government.

“No need to spend time in debating as people are wiser than anybody else so let people of the state judge,” Tynsong told reporters while reacting to AITC president Charles Pyngrope’s allegation that the performance of the MDA government had not met expectations.

Stating that politicians are good in blame game, the deputy CM said, “Even if AITC rule the state, be it in West Bengal or be it anywhere I am very sure being a politician if I am asked a question, I will say no this government has not done anything…”

“So therefore…let the people of Meghalaya judge whether the statement made by the president of the AITC is correct or not,” he added.

When asked about the relocation of the Sweeper’s Colony, Tynsong informed that the urban affairs department has been directed to take necessary steps on the decisions already taken by the cabinet on the issue.

“We already handed over this responsibility to the urban affairs department and instruction has been given that immediately shifting of the employees who stays in that particular place should be done,” he further stated.
