SHILLONG, MAY 30: The Meghalaya DGP’s Janata Darbar sat for the first time today.
Idashisha Nongrang, the first woman Director General of Police (DGP) in Meghalaya held her open house for the first time today at Police Headquarter Shillong. It is an initiative taken to strengthen ties between the public and law enforcement agencies.
Citizens met the DGP and voice their concern. Around 43 individuals from various parts of the state attended the inaugural meet.
Talking to mediapersons, DGP Idashisha Nongrang said during the meeting, the visitors requested for taking action against public nuisances carried out in different parts, beside other.
“Public nuisances carried out in different parts of the city which could be addressed immediately,” the DGP said.
“People from various walks of life came, some of them have come in with grievances and some of them have come for help. A couple of them came with the issue with our serving policemen. I have noted most of these things. There were few who has just come in with congratulatory note,” she added.
Every Thursday Participants were required to register at the police headquarters between 9:00 am and 11:45 am, with meetings scheduled from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
