Meghalaya Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh announced Tuesday that the DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will inaugurate the prestigious two-day Cherry Blossom Festival on November 15, alongside Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Lyngdoh himself.
“The two-day Cherry Blossom festival, which is a prestigious event that has a brand of its own, will be inaugurated by DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on November 15,” he said.
“We are also awaiting confirmation from the government of Japan as to which dignitary will attend the festival, as this is the first time we are partnering with a foreign country,” The Minister said.
Lyngdoh also shared that the Shillong Literary Festival, scheduled for November 18-19, will bring together renowned authors.
“We will have the Lit Fest on November 18-19, where renowned writers like Vikram Seth, Shobha De, Kynpham Nongkynrih, and potentially William Dalrymple will be part of the fest,” he said, highlighting the event as a key cultural draw for the region.
