East Khasi Hills District Administration Suspends Operation of Border Haats

The East Khasi Hills district administration has announced the suspension of all Border Haats along the international border with Bangladesh.
According to an official order, “In pursuance to an order issued by the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Commerce and Industries Department, the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on 8th August 2024 has informed that all Border Haats in East Khasi Hills District are suspended for operations with immediate effect until further orders.”
