Tura, Jan 16: In a show of complete domination, swimmers from the capital city of Shillong, East Khasi Hills ((EKH), won 9 out of a possible 10 golds while also bagging another 6 silver medals in the first day of the swimming competition at the Rongkhon Swimming Centre.
Incredibly, all 10 bronze medals also went to Shillong (EKH).
The only other gold went to the district of South West Khasi Hills which also took 3 silver medals, rounding up the medal tally for the day.
Women’s Wrestling:
The two events held this afternoon at the St Mary’s HS School ground saw all medals on offer go to the district of EKH. There was no bronze medal in the competition.
Taekwondo Poomsae:
WGH dominated proceedings in the Taekwondo (Poomsae) event winning 2 golds, 1 silver and a bronze of the three categories on display. The other gold medal was won by West Jaintia Hills which also won 1 silver and bronze. Ribhoi won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals while East Khasi Hills won 3 bronze medals.
