Meghalaya, the picturesque Music capital of India, is all set to rock as global pop sensation Ed Sheeran is slated to perform in the Shillong city on February 12, 2025. This high-energy concert is a part of Sheeran’s much-anticipated India tour, which will also include performances in Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Shillong.
Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh expressed immense joy over Sheeran’s visit, stating that it underscores Meghalaya’s growing popularity as a global tourist destination. “This is a significant moment for ‘brand Meghalaya’. It showcases our state’s potential to host world-class events and attract international visitors,” he added.
In addition to Sheeran’s concert, Shillong will also host the third edition of the Bloomverse Festival on February 14, 2025. This popular music and arts festival will feature the legendary American rock band Mr. Big, who will headline the Shillong leg of their farewell “The BIG Finish Tour” at Umiam.
To top it all off, Canadian music icon Bryan Adams is set to perform at the Polo Grounds in Shillong on December 10, 2024. This will mark Adams’ debut performance in Meghalaya, promising an unforgettable experience for music lovers.
With these high-profile concerts, Shillong is poised to become a major music destination in India, attracting music enthusiasts from across the globe.
