SHILLONG, AUG 29: Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma has confirmed that a preliminary enquiry report on the alleged irregularities in teacher appointments in the Dadenggre Subdivision has been submitted.
Replying to a short duration discussion raised by VPP Chief Ardent Basaiawmoit in the Assembly, Sangma said that the matter has been seriously taken up by the Directorate and the District and Sub-Division to ascertain the truth and validate the claims and counter claims made by the aggrieved party.
“The preliminary report of the enquiry committee has been submitted and is under is review and appropriate action will be taken in due course of time,” he assured.
“I would again repeat that the State Government is seriously looking into the plight of quality education at large in the State despite challenges and aspire to bring about change in the attitude and to uplift and improve the welfare of the education fraternity,” Sangma added.
The Government vide letter No. EDN.129/2023/26 Dt. 10.10.2023, conveyed the approval for advertisement of the above-mentioned vacant posts. The advertisement had been issued vide No.SDSEO/D/Draft Advt./2023/3753 dated 02.11.2023 with wide publicity and strict adherence and compliance to the roster system as laid down by the Government and in compliance to the Hon’ble High Court Order.
The applications had been invited from all the eligible candidates who fulfill the norms and criteria, as prescribed by the Government. The interviews was conducted for 11 (eleven) days, viz, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 19th, 20th and 21st December, 2023 and 04th, 05th, 6th, 08th and 9th January, 2024 and the result of the successful and qualified candidates was declared on the 10th January, 2024, in which 192 candidates were declared as passed.
He said that the appointment orders were issued on the 09th February, 2024, to all the successful and qualified candidates. However, I may inform this August House that a complaint has been filed by Shri. Istiak Alom and Shri. Abdus Salim Biswas, against 2 (two) successful candidates namely, Shri. Haidar Hussain Mollah and Shri. Md. Saddam Hussain, accusing them of producing of fake / forged D. El. Ed. Certificate at the time of interview.
He said since the allegation was serious in nature, the Department constituted A Three Member Committee (13.05.2014) comprising of District School Education Officer, West Garo Hills, Tura as Chairman and Sub Divisional School Education Officer, Tura and Ampati as Members to oversee the allegations. The terms of reference of the Committee were to review all the relevant documents submitted and produced by Shri. Haidar Hussain Mollah and Md. Saddam Hussain. The term of reference also includes providing of detailed report of the findings, recommendation for appropriate action. The report of the committee is under examination.
That Sir, as part of the verification process an application under the Right to Information Act, 2005, (Dated 13.05.2024) addressed to The Principal Cum Public Information Officer, Adarsh Devkali Baba Smarak Mahavidyalaya, Udaina, Ahiraula, Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh and requested for verification and authentication of the D. El. Ed. Pass Certificate duly obtained by Shri. Md. Saddam Hussain.
Similarly, an application under the Right to Information Act, 2005 (Dated 13.05.2024), has been sent to The Registrar and Public Information Officer, Rayalaseema University, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh with a request to verify and authenticate the D. El. Ed. Certificate duly obtained by Shri. Haidar Hussain Mollah.
In both the cases, it was informed by the Institutions that the D. El. Ed. Certificates of both Shri. Haidar Hussain Mollah and Shri. Md. Saddam Hussain are authentic and valid.
A counter complaint has been filed by Shri. Haidar Hussain Mollah and Shri. Md. Saddam Hussain with others, against Shri. Istiak Alom alleging of cheats and frauds and obtaining of fake D. El. Ed. Certificate.
