EGH Police recovers huge quantity of ammunition

The East Garo Hills police team on Wednesday recovered ammunitions from Chipit Mongre A.bri area suspected to be belonging to GNLA.

The operation which begins on Tuesday was led by Deputy Superintendent of police Victor N Sangma, who undertook the search operation across Chipit hill.  

The operation led to the recovery of approximately 47 number of .30-06 mm ammunitions suspected to be belonging to GNLA.

Earlier, On Tuesday, the East Garo Hills police team received source information that a huge cache of arms was hidden at Chipot Mongre A.bri, police said. 

 “On receiving of the information, the East Garo hills Superintendent of police dispatch the operation team led by Deputy Superintendent of police Victor N Sangma MPS to Chipit,” Police said. 

The ammunitions were brought to Williamnagar police station a case is being registered for investigating the case.

“Efforts are being made to recover more Arms and ammunitions from the district,” police said.
