The Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India MESSO,P-4 Unit Mendipathar, Meghalaya has organized Farmers’ Field Day for Muga farmers on Tuesday at Jira, Goalpara , Assam.
A total of 28 progressive farmers and new Muga farmers from Mendipathar, Jira, Bamunipanikhowa have attended this programme. Vikram Kumar , Scientist-B & OIC, CSB, MESSO,P-3 Unit Rompara was the Chief Guest of this programme.
The programme emphasized on more scientific practical knowledge about Muga silkworm rearing activities.
Attending the programme, Vikram Kumar , Scientist-B & OIC, CSB, MESSO,P-3 Unit Rompara has highlited on the maintenance of food plants, and seed crop rearing during Aherua and Bhodia seasons.
Mahasankar Majumdar , Scientist-C & Officer –In-Charge of this unit has discussed about disinfection procedure of rearing field and trying to popularize Brushing technique through perforated paper envelope and also discussed the merits of this technique.
Majumdar further explained how CSB, MESSO supported their farmers through e-communication ,social media.
