Private airliner – Flybig – will soon start its operations connecting Shillong to Pasighat and Shillong-Agartala flight further expanding air connectivity.
In an exclusive interview to Meghalaya News 24, Flybig CMD Sanjay Mandavia said the two flights will be operationalised by October, even as he mentioned that direct flight connecting Shillong to Aizwal is in offing.
“Very soon Flybig is starting Agartala Shillong we are connecting, we are also having under Regional Connectivity Scheme – UDAN we will have Shillong- Pasighat, Shillong Aizwal very soon you will joining Shillong,” Mandavia said.
To further expand air connectivity in the northeastern region under the Regional Connectivity Scheme-Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (RCS-UDAN) scheme of the central government, Flybig is introducing more carriers in the coming days.
“We as an Airline it always bridges the gap, we are giving the good connectivity means today if anybody wants to connect to Shillong from Metros it is almost like 10-11 hrs of affairs, it slows down the movement of people, such initiative of Chief Minister to give direct connectivity to metros will definitely bring lot of prosperity and business to the state,” CMD added.
At Present, Flybig is operating direct flight between Shillong- Delhi only two days in a week, the CMD, however, assured to increase the air traffic.
