The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to release its manifesto on Tuesday, for the elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) slated to be held on April 12.
“We will be releasing our election manifesto for the GHADC polls on March 16,” BJP state president Ernest Mawrie told Meghalaya News 24 on Sunday.
Asked, Mawrie said that the manifesto will highlight mainly on 13 issues that are affecting the people of the state, particularly in the Garo Hills region.
“It will be a 13 point manifesto. Ways and means to improve revenue generation of the GHADC are one of the most important agenda of the party,” he added.
BJP has so far announced the names of 21 candidates for the GHADC polls. The BJP president however said that the party will come up with a final list comprising of one or two candidates on Monday.
The last date of filing of nomination for the upcoming election to the GHADC is on Monday till 3 pm, while the elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council on April 12 and the counting of votes on April 15.
