GHADC poll: Congress holds meeting to introduce its candidates.


The opposition Congress on Monday held a meeting at the Congress Bhawan, Tura for the introduction of all the INC candidates. In the meeting, the discussion was also held on the party manifesto for the GHADC election.

With the elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), to be held on April 9, Congress is the first party to declare candidates for all the 29 seats.

The meeting was attended by CLP leader, Dr. Mukul Sangma, working president MPCC James Lyngdoh, Zenith M Sangma, former Cabinet Minister & President of West Garo Hills DCC, besides other MLAs and Party leaders.

An inside source informed that the meeting deliberated on various factors and the issues the opposition Congress will highlight during the poll.

“With strategies and policies in place, the congress aims to win a good number of seats in this election,” the party source added.
