Government Must Acknowledge and Solve MCS Exam Issues, Says Mukul Sangma

Shillong, August 28: Meghalaya TMC Parliamentary Party Leader Dr. Mukul Sangma has called on the state government to take responsibility and address the concerns surrounding the Meghalaya Civil Services (MCS) Preliminary examination. This follows concerns raised by the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU), which urged the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) to ensure transparency and put an end to nepotism and favouritism in the recruitment process.

Dr. Sangma emphasized the importance of the government acknowledging the issues at hand. “We will always be confronted with some kind of unforeseen challenges. Therefore, as and when we face problems, we must be willing to identify and acknowledge them. Once we acknowledge the problem, we can then solve it. If they don’t acknowledge the problem, it means they are indirectly denying the responsibility that comes with their position, power, and authority,” he stated.

When asked about his satisfaction with Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s response to the MPSC issue, the former Chief Minister reiterated the need for the government to accept the existence of the problem. “Once you agree to acknowledge the problem, then you will find a solution. Therefore, the government must not shy away from its responsibility. If it doesn’t want to avoid its responsibility, it must acknowledge the problem, identify it, and then evolve ways and means to solve it,” he asserted.

While expressing the growing concerns over the transparency and fairness of the MCS examination process, he calls for the state government to take immediate and effective action.
