Governor Satya Pal Malik has lauded the state government for the successful handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s the finest management of COVID-19. 5-6 cases per day is a very good achievement,” Malik told reporters on Thursday.
Stating that the protocols are very strict, he said, “I have undergone test seven times since I have assumed charge. Every time when I come from Delhi I have to get tested but yes it is good for the state.”
Meanwhile, the state has registered 20 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday, taking the total caseload to 13794 so far, even as nine more persons recovered from the viral infection.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr. Aman War said the new cases included 19 from East Khasi Hills district and 01 from South West Garo Hills district.
So far, the state has detected a total of 13794 COVID-19 cases out of which 63 are active cases, 13584 recovered and 147 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has 53 active cases, West Jaintia Hills 02, South West Garo Hills 01, Ri Bhoi 03, and West Khasi Hills 04.
