Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik today appreciated the efforts of the state Government in its fight against COVID 19 pandemic.
Joining the Jan Andolan launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote wearing of masks, maintaining social distance and regular hand wash for protection against Coronavirus infection, Governor Malik said, “I appeal to the people of Meghalaya also to follow social distancing, wear Mask and follow health and hygiene protocols with 2,411 active cases, 4694 recoveries as on 7th October, here Meghalaya doing well in the fight against COVID 19.”
While congratulating the state Government for its efforts to contain the pandemic, the Governor urged the authorities and the public to ensure there is no let up in this critical battle against the pandemic.
“I would like to urge the authorities and the public to ensure there is no let up in this critical battle against the pandemic. I would like to repeat the inspiring message of our Prime Minister: let us always remember to wear a mask, wash your hands and follow social distancing. Practicing ‘Do Gaj Ki Doori’ together will succeed.”
Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched a campaign on covid-19 appropriate behaviour via a series of tweets.
“India’s covid-19 fight is people driven and gets great strength from our covid warriors. Our collective efforts have helped save many lives. We have to continue the momentum and protect our citizens from the virus. #Unite2FightCorona,” Modi tweeted.
In another tweet he said, “Let us #Unite2FightCorona! Let us always remember: Wear a mask. Wash hands. Follow social distancing. Practice ‘Do Gaj Ki Doori.’ Together, we will succeed. Together, we will win against covid-19.”
The campaign has been launched in view of the upcoming festivals and winter season as well as the opening up of the economy, the prime minister’s office said in a statement.
The campaign is being launched with the aim to encourage People’s Participation. Under the campaign, a COVID-19 pledge will be taken by all. A concerted action plan will be implemented by Central Government Ministries and Departments and State Governments and Union Territories.
