Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong on Friday said the government has directed all the district administrations to keep proper record on the refugees coming from violence-hit Manipur to Meghalaya.
Addressing media persons, Tynsong said, “We have instructed all the district administrations to be ready to update themselves on how many people reach our state in different places and how many days they have been here and when they are going back.”
He also informed that the autonomous district councils have also been asked to keep a check on this and they had in turn issued instructions to all concerned localities.
Tynsong said he is not aware that some people from Manipur are being harassed in the state. “See the secretariat is not far so those aggrieved parties if they have such problems the door is always open they can come and meet me or meet the CM or cabinet ministers, we are here.”
