Minister in-charge Community & Rural Development Abu Taher Mondal on Wednesday said the government has created nine new C&RD blocks recently.
“The government has every intention of bringing governance and administration closer to the people,” Mondal said in his reply.
The minister said there has been no proposal to create new C&RD blocks in the state.
Mawhati MLA Charles Marngar and Nongkrem MLA Ardent M Basaiawmoit have requested the government to consider creation of new blocks for Mawhati and Nongkrem.
The minister assured that the government will examine and take a call as and when creation of a new block is required.
According to him, there are no fixed guidelines for creation of new blocks but the intention of the government is to bring administration closer to the people.
