Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma said that the Meghalaya Government has initiated the process to get University Grants Commission (UGC) recognition to Captain Williamson Sangma State University in the state.
Talking Exclusively to Meghalaya News 24, the Education Minister said as soon as the recognition is granted, the state Government will began the process of affiliation to the colleges in the state.
In view of the inconvenience caused during the conduct of the Central University Entrance Test (CUET) examination, the colleges affiliated to the state university will get a major relief as students not choosing central university can skip the examination by choosing colleges affiliated to the state university.
