Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui on Wednesday said that the report sought from the district administration into the tear gas incident is yet to reach him.
“Therefore, when I get the report I will look into what are the necessary things to be done, we will do accordingly,” he assured while speaking to reporters.
HITO has threatened to march to the secretariat in protest against the delay of the government to take action and suspend those involved in the recent firing of tear gas at the teachers.
Stating that the government is not there to defend anybody, Rymbui said, “We will take action on anything which goes beyond the law. We have to understand the situation as we are here not to protect anybody nor are we here to hide anything but before doing anything we have to follow due process of law.”
