Intensifying the ongoing water conservation and management works, the Soil & water conservation department plans to create Check dams and dug out trenches to retain the rainwater which is flowing down into the rivers.
Informing this Minister inCharge of Soil & water conservation department Marcuise N Marak said very soon the government will start tendering of these projects.
“In the social and water conservation alone will be taking up many projects like creating a check dams , digging out the trenches to retain the rainwater which is flowing down into the rivers,” Marak said.
“Innumerable check dams will be created to retain the rainwater, so in one division alone there will be a lot of projects which we will be tendering very soon,” he added.
The Minister further informed that the state Government is yet to get clearance from the Asian Development Bank in this regard.
“We need to get clearance from ADB and it will be done, all the process will be done. Once the formalities are done,” Marcuise said.
