At least eight to nine wooden bridges in Garo Hills region will be replaced by RCC bridges, Deputy Chief Minister in-charge PWD (Roads) Prestone Tynsong informed on Friday.
“We already got the sanction and now the tendering process is on,” Tynsong told reporters.
He informed that last year, a total of 10-12 bridges were sanctioned by the government. “Our target is we want to replace wooden bridges with permanent bridges,” Tynsong said.
Many wooden bridges especially in Garo Hills have been washed away due to flash flood caused by incessant rainfall.
