Health Minister AL Hek on Friday assured that the state government will look into the issue of ventilators which are not functioning.
“This has come to our knowledge and definitely the government will look into the matter,” Hek told reporters.
He was reacting to the recent allegation made by the opposition Congress that the ventilators provided under the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) for tackling the COVID-19 pandemic have not been put to use by the state government.
Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma had said,“Till now the ventilators which are provided under the PM CARES fund have not been put to use.”
“…if we have asked for these ventilators and have not put them to use that means we have lost focus and probably the priority is different – that is the possible interpretation in respect of the response of the government while fighting this pandemic,” he had stated.
