HSPDP asks Govt to consider demand of Ad Hoc teachers

Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP)  KP Pangniang has taken up issue relating to the demand made by the Adhoc teachers under the banner of the Federation of All Schools of Meghalaya (FASTOM) during the MDA coordination Committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.

Informing about this,  Pangniang said, “So today we had a meeting with the Minister incharge of Education and also we got a lot of information from the honourable chief minister that we feel collectively we feel that it is time to consider the demand of the teachers.”

Stating that the State Government is trying to find ways and means to consider the demand of the Adhoc teachers, he said, “…the Government has financial constraints at present, but even though, we keep on discussing and stressing that we need to consider their demand.”

Adhoc teachers under the banner of the Federation of All Schools of Meghalaya (FASTOM) on Thursday held a protest in front of the secretariat demanding to enhance the salary of all adhoc teachers by Rs 18,000.
