The body of missing Hungarian tourist Puskas Zsolt was recovered on Thursday afternoon around 1:30 PM at Ramdait village, along the route to Tyrna in Shella under the Sohra Civil Sub-Division, bringing a somber close to a days-long search operation.

Police Sources informed that Zsolt had been missing since March 29, prompting the Hungarian Embassy to alert local police on April 2. A coordinated search and rescue effort involving police, Home Guards, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local volunteers was subsequently launched. His body, discovered in a partially decomposed state, was found in a remote, steep-sloped area, suggesting a possible accidental fall.

The sources further said that an investigations revealed that Zsolt had checked into a hotel in Laitumkhrah at 3:45 AM on March 29 and checked out just hours later at 9:00 AM. He then boarded a local taxi which dropped him at Mawsahew, near Sohra, by noon. From there, he reportedly began a solo trek toward Mawkawir, with plans to reach Nongriat, carrying only a backpack.

His disappearance and lack of contact since March 29 triggered alarm and eventually led to the large-scale rescue operation.
