Shillong August 10: HYC Mawlai Circle organized a “Rally Against Drug Abuse” in Mawlai, Shillong, to combat drug abuse in the state, particularly in Shillong.
The rally, which featured the theme “Say No to Drugs,” was attended by students, teachers, Rangbah Shnong from various villages, Seng Samla Mawlai Pyllun representatives, Mawlai PS police personnel, and members of the HYC Mawlai Circle and Central Body.
The organization’s efforts include addressing the rampant drug trade in Shillong, facilitating rehabilitation for addicts, and raising awareness among students and youths about the dangers of drug use.
Roy Kupar Synrem, President of the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) said, “In addition to the various drives undertaken by the organization against the rampant selling of drugs in Shillong and other areas, facilitating youths who are addicts to be rehabilitated, the organization has also decided to create awareness amongst students and youths to stay away from using drugs. “
“It also calls upon all sections of the society to take this issue seriously and works towards eradication of drugs abuse in the State and more importantly to ensure that more youths does not fall prey to substance abuse,” he added.
