The Khasi Students Union (KSU) has demanded the state government to immediately resolve the present stalemate arising due to the ongoing indefinite strike by the commercial vehicles over the fuel price hike.

“The state government should take steps to address the demands of the commercial vehicles. We also felt it necessary to also urge the government to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel at the earliest,” KSU general secretary Donald V Thabah said in a statement on Monday.

Stating that the demands of the Meghalaya Joint Action Committee of Commercial Vehicles (MJACCV) are very genuine, Thabah however said that the indefinite strike has to a great extent affected people from all walks of life including students and farmers.
