Law and Order Situation ‘Slightly Fluid’ in East Khasi Hills: SP Vivek Syiem

Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, Vivek Syiem, stated that the law and order situation in the district remains “slightly fluid,” with two cases of arson registered.
“In the early hours of the morning, a vehicle belonging to Meghalaya Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation was set on fire by unidentified miscreants,” Syiem said. “The second incident occurred at the old Railway Guest House, where an Alto vehicle was partially burnt.”
He linked these incidents to the fallout of the previous day’s events. “Considering these events, we can say these are the fallout of yesterday’s event. Hence, we have alerted all our units, and intense patrolling and all measures are being taken to ensure peace and security for the public and for commuters,” he affirmed.
Syiem also cautioned officers and government personnel regarding their vehicles. “Police also cautioned officers and government vehicles that they should be careful where they park,” he said.
While refraining from disclosing specific security measures, Syiem emphasized preparedness. “We have taken certain security measures which we cannot divulge. We need to be prepared for eventuality,” he stated.
