Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday said the leave application of the Director General of Police (DGP) R Chandranathan is under process.
“He (DGP) has applied for it and the process will have to be followed and (leave will be granted) as requested by him,” Sangma told reporters.
The DGP’s decision to take leave also came following the growing demand from the people for suspension of top police officials to ensure free and fair investigation into the death of the former HNLC “general secretary” Cherishterfield Thangkhiew on August 13.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister informed that the order will also come out very soon in as far as the appointment of the new chief secretary of the state is concerned.
“As and when the date approaches you will come to know,” he said. The incumbent chief secretary MS Rao is all set to go for his retirement.
