While Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma draws an action plan for building a 10 billion US dollar economy by 2028, the opposition Congress criticized the MDA Government for making the state debt trap.
Congress legislator from Gambegre constituency said loan is reflected in the budget and in a way the 10 billion US dollar economy dream of Meghalaya Chief Minister may shatter.
“Loan is reflected in the budget and if we are talking about that much loan we will be in the debt trap in the future, so in that way the dream might get shattered you may not know because every citizen of Meghalaya will end up one way or the other,” Sangma
said.
He further stated that when Meghalaya itself is in debt trap then definitely there will be price rice.
Asserting that the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) Government for the last six years is still at the planning stage for various projects, the MLA said, “MDA has completed 6 years and they are still planning to develop the state, they are still in the thinking stage. It’s the people who see more than us.”
“ As congress we are teaming up to do certain changes, we still have lots of issues which are not attended to by the Government,” he added.
