Meghalaya Awaits Feasibility Report on Expanding Shillong Airport

Shillong, Sep 10: Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Sniawbhalang Dhar, has announced that the state government is waiting for a crucial feasibility report to determine whether larger aircraft can land at Shillong Airport.

“We are yet to receive the final report from the consultant appointed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). As soon as we receive the report, we will immediately take a call on the matter,” Dhar told reporters on Tuesday.

The Deputy CM informed that the consultant is expected to submit the feasibility report by the end of October. Expressing optimism, Dhar said, “We are hopeful that the report will be positive, as the government is deeply concerned about this issue.”
