Meghalaya BJP to raise ILP implementation, language beside other issues with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Senior BJP legislator and cabinet Minister AL Hek informed that the state BJP has sought an appointment with the Union Home minister Amit Shah during his visit to Shillong on Friday.
“We have to seek permission before giving any confirmation. I am yet to take permission but I am planning to call his office and if possible to meet him with our BJP leader,” Hek said.
Informing about the issue that will be taken up by the party, the BJP leader said, “If we can meet the Union Home Minister, we will remind him to include Khasi and Garo in the 8th schedule. Apart from that, we will discuss the ILP issue with the Union Home Minister when he comes to the state. “
Asked about the reason for the centre being mum on the ILP issue, he said , “Before taking any decision the centre has to study the pros and cons of the issue, if it is beneficial or not beneficial for the state.”
Also the state BJP will highlight various developmental issues.
“There are so many development schemes in the Northeast Eastern council to develop the region as a whole and Meghalaya in particular. Meghalaya has huge potential for tourism so we will request schemes for the development of tourism,” Hek added.
