Shillong on Monday celebrated ‘Deepotsav 2.0’ as in various Puja pandals and temples oil diyas were light up. People here illuminated various building as firecrackers light up night sky to mark the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. People made various rangolis to celebrate their joy.
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to light earthen lamps following the grand ‘Pran Patistha’ (consecration ceremony) of the Ram temple, netizens took to social media to share visuals of their homes decked up with diyas. The atmosphere is abuzz with excitement as Monday marks the return of Lord Ram after a 500-year exile, and celebrations have kicked off in various corners of the country. PM Modi also lit diyas at his residence. Taking to X, he shared the pictures and wrote “RamJyoti.” Several also termed the day as ‘January Ki Diwali.’
