Meghalaya Congress is likely to declare the first list of candidates for the Garo Hills Autonomous District poll on Wednesday, as the election committee, as well as the executive committee meeting of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee, met in Sonsak in East Garo Hills on Tuesday to finalize the names.

With hundreds of applicants in the queue to receive Congress tickets for the GHADC poll, it has become a herculean task for the Congress election committee to finalize ticket aspirants.

Refusing to divulge much detail, James Lyngdoh, Working President of MPCC said, “It was an executive committee meeting of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee.”

Asked if the GHADC first list will be out on Wednesday, Lyngdoh said, “Yeah, we are discussing this…….. but tomorrow you will know the details.”

Very soon Congress will also come up with its manifesto highlighting the illegalities and corruption in the state.

With Congress deciding to put up candidates in all the seats, a party source revealed that the Congress Wave has once again returned.

Other issues discussed in the executive meeting were about the vacancy created in the Mawryngkneng constituency following the demise of its legislator David Nongrum.
